• Puroast discovers Trader Joe’s sells Dark French Low Acid Coffee that’s really decaf
  • We sue them in Federal Court in February, 2025
  • Discovery and Expert Testimony confirm:
  • Trader Joe’s responds by declaring consumers are not entitled to know the caffeine level
  • Other main retailers would not carry a coffee that doesn’t disclose its lower caffeine content
  • According to a former Lactaid® executive, if Trader Joe’s behavior isn’t halted, consumers will turn off to the benefits of real low acid coffee, especially Puroast.

We know coffee drinkers are plenty ticked off at this, but food safety regulators so far have refused to act and take this Trader Joe’s faux low acid coffee off the shelf.

So Puroast has to act alone against this German-owned monster; basically, we’re the Coffee Truth in Labelling Cops for now — and we need help.

We’ve set up this GoFundMe page to help us with the legal costs that are eating up our otherwise successful business. Anything you can contribute will work immediately toward righting this wrong.

You can email me at ksachs@puroast.com with any questions, or I can call you with more detail on how we’re moving to stop this, including sharing copies of our legal filings.
