Puroast Coffee Global: licensing the only patented low-acid roasting process
We wanted to share a brief update on why we believe Puroast is uniquely positioned at the intersection of proprietary technology, category growth, and scalable manufacturing economics.
1. Defensible IP In June 2026 Puroast was granted U.S. Patent No. 12,660,842 B2 covering our low-acid roasting system, process, and product output. This is the first U.S. patent of its kind for verified low-acid coffee production. Combined with independent university research (UC Davis and NC A&T), it gives us a durable competitive moat and a clear path to licensing.
2. Structural Category Growth Two large audiences are converging: the established base of acid-sensitive coffee drinkers (~30% of regular consumers) and the rapidly expanding GLP-1 population (20M+ Americans today, projected 25M+ by 2030), many of whom experience heightened gastric sensitivity. Search interest in “low-acid coffee” has roughly doubled. We are the only brand that can point to both published science and issued patent protection.
3. Manufacturing + Private-Label / Co-Pack Economics Recent transactions in adjacent better-for-you categories underscore the valuation power of controlled manufacturing and private-label capability. Vita Coco’s July 2026 acquisition of Copra (super-premium coconut water) for $175 million upfront plus a $45–100 million earnout illustrates the point clearly. Copra brought specialized production, strong private-label relationships, and high growth (48% sales CAGR; expected >$100M 2026 net sales). Strategic buyers are paying meaningful multiples for platforms that combine process know-how, manufacturing control, and the ability to serve both branded and co-label channels.
Puroast sits in a similar position: patented process technology, proprietary roasting assets, national distribution already in place, and a scalable licensing/co-pack model that can serve both our own brand and partners.
We look forward to the opportunity to engage with you on future strategic partnerships as we continue building the leading low-acid coffee platform.
