Grind Size for Pour Over

Adjust based on your results: if brew finishes in under 2:30, grind finer. If brew takes more than 5:00, grind coarser. If the cup tastes sour or thin, grind finer or extend bloom. If the cup tastes bitter or harsh, grind coarser or shorten steep.
Water Temperature

The Pour — Step by Step

Step 4: The Main Pour
Begin your main pour in slow, concentric spirals, starting at the center and spiraling outward to the edge of the grounds. Pour steadily and slowly — aim for a flow rate of about 5–8 grams per second. Pour in 2–3 stages, allowing the water level to drop between each addition. This staged pouring maintains consistent contact time across all the grounds.
Step 5: Finish and Drawdown
Complete your final pour by your target time (usually around 2:30–3:00 for a 3:30 total brew). Allow the remaining water to draw down fully. The total brew should finish at 3:30–4:30. Remove the dripper and serve immediately.
